1/4 cup suji
1/3 cup besan
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 cup powdered sugar
4-5 cardamom (elaichi)
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda

Method:

Mix ghee and powdered sugar till fluffy.

Sift maida, suji, besan, baking powder and baking soda. For best results sift 2-3 times.

Deseed the elaichi , powder it and mix all the ingredients till perfectly mixed.
Make a soft dough. If it is not like dough or else too crumbly then add 1 tbsp of milk. Max to 2 tbsp.

If milk is added, the nan khatai does not become much puffed and soft.

Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celsius.
Grease a tray, make small round balls with hands, press them making little flat and place them on the tray.

After the preheat, bake for 15 minutes at 180 degree Celsius. To check whether it's baked, put a toothpick into one of the biscuits. If it comes out clean, it is baked. If not then bake for 5 more minutes.

If you want to make design on nan khatai, then make little cuts with knife.
The nan khatai will be atleast 150 to 200% in size.
