Mohanthaal recipe

Ingredients:

For sugar syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder

For mixture
1/2 cup besan(gram flour)
250gm khoya or mawa
7-8 tbsp ghee

Method:

In a pan heat 4-5 tbsp ghee and mix it in the besan and mix till it's crumbly. If there are lumps in your besan, then pass it through the sieve it'll have the perfect texture.

In that pan, add the khoya and at the same time in another pan put sugar and water to make the sugar syrup.

Keep stirring both the pans.

The khoya will release the pan as it is cooked and turn off the flame.

Check for sugar syrup, whether it is at single thread consistency. When it has that consistency, add in the cardamom powder and also the khoya and mix well and let all that mixture cook on low flame.

Now in the pan in which you cooked khoya, put 2 tbsp of ghee and cook the besan. Cook it till it releases the pan.
And till then, the sugar syrup and khoya mixture is cooking on low flame.
If you cook the sugar syrup and khoya mixture for less time, then the barfi will be very soft and it'll not set firmly.

Now add in the besan and mix well and let it cook for about 5-6 minutes

Meanwhile, Prepare a tin in which you want to set your sweet. Grease the pan with some ghee.

After the mixture it boiling and cooked, turn off the flame and transfer it to the greased tin and let it set till it is cooled down. Garnish with some toasted dry and chopped dry fruits and with dessicated coconut.

Cut in whichever shape you want and serve.
