Sciscy roti, snack main course recipe.
This roti is kind of a designer roti where different designs are made on the top of a thick roti. It can be a good alternative for baati. It can also be kept for next day as it is crispy and baked more than a normal chapati. You can use your imagination and do any shapes, sizes and designs.
It is best dish to serve to your guests and on the festive occasions. It can also be served as mathris, if it is fried.
It is a great way to serve roti to the kids as the designs will attract them to eat the roti.

Sciscy roti
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 1 person
Ingredients:
1 cup Wheat flour
2 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Carrom seeds (ajwain)
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Water
A pair of small scissors
Method:
Add flour, ghee, carrom seeds and salt in a bowl and knead a tight dough.
The dough that is usually prepared for baati and poori.
Keep it at rest for 15 minutes and then roll out in a 1/2 inch round shape.
Pick up the pair of scissors and start cutting the rolled dough carefully without cutting till the base.
You can also use a pair of tweezers for making other designs.
Preheat the oven at 180 degree and bake the bread for around 15-18 minutes till it is baked crispy and a little color appears on top.
In case, the color does not come on top, than you can cook it in pan on stove with some ghee/butter.
Alternatively, you can cook it in gas tandoor.
Serve hot with dal or bura and ghee.
Tips:
You can play with the shapes and sizes like small round shapes.
In case you are not health conscious then you can fry it on medium hot oil.
